Paget's of the breast?

Options

I was diagnosed with DCIS (right breast) last Oct. Had lumpectomy but no radiation. I'm going to have bilateral mastectomy soon but not yet scheduled. Met with a breast surgeon and plastic surgeon. They were very nice. Now, I have a region above my right nipple which became really itchy and scaly/flaky recently. It doesn't hurt to touch but there is some mild pain every now and then. I talked to my breast surgeon about it and she examined it. She wanted to do a punch biopsy but decided not to since I'll have mastectomy soon anyway. Ever since then, the region grew slightly larger. The itch and the flakiness is still there. I know I shouldn't have but I googled, and I'm thinking I have Paget's. But I have this region for like 15 years or so. These symptoms I have come and go. Does this sound like Paget's?

    bigmoosetinysquirrel, welcome to Breastcancer.org!

We are not doctors and every cancer and every person is different, but if it helps ease your mind, only about 1-4% of all breast cancer cases also involve Paget disease. You can learn more on Paget Disease of the Breast at the main Breastcancer.org site while you wait for other members to share their own experiences and advice.
