Possible liver mets. Please help

Hi everybody. I am having such a rubbish time. I went through treatment for her 2+ er pr - BC in 2017. Had a complete response to treatment and had my 5 year review and was told it was great I had reached 5 years especially with my subtype of BC.

Had my annual breast MRI afterwards and spotted something on my liver. Immediately went for CT which they said snowed a benign hemangioma but to follow up with a liver MRI which I did. Except the liver MRI report says suspicious for metastases.

I now have to a liver biopsy this week and I am terrified. My oncologist said it may still simply be benign but I'm not feeling hopeful.

Has anybody had investigations for something on their liver that looked like mets but was actually ok?

This has been nearly 2 months and I am a woman on the edge.

Hello.. I am going through something very similar. I am a nine year survivor and have done well after mastectomies, chemo and five years of aroma tase inhibitors. In April, 2022 I went to the ER because I developed a nasty stomach bug, after catching it from a family member. They gave me antibiotics and it cleared up completely. While there in the ER they did a CT of the abdomen which showed cysts on my liver. I already knew that I have had liver cysts for many years with no health issues but they wanted an MRI. Everything else was normal like pancreas, adrenal glands, kindeys, gall bladder, etc. So Off I went for the MRI which showed all was normal but some lymphedemeopathy on a few liver cysts. Next they did an Endoscopy with biopsy which also was normal. Now they want to do a liver biopsy and like you am scared. The biopsy has not yet been scheduled..waiting to hear back from the DR. I am not as afraid of them finding something as I am of the procedur. But if they find something then I will deal with it just like I did with the breast cancer..one day at a time.

I have learned that radiology reports are there to report findings which may or may not be anything. Waiting is the hard part though and I am right there with you. I have searched for info on liver biopsy’s and find that it really doesn’t take very long but they keep you for awhile, several hours, just to keep an eye on you. I think it is usually an out patient proceedure.

Waiting is very hard but having already had a breast cancer diagnosis, which was a sucker punch if you ask me, I keep reminding myself that I can do this and that I will face whatever comes my way by taking really good care of myself along the way.
