Progesterone or progesterone agonist to balance estrogen?

I was on HRT before my DCIS diagnosis and was told to stop it upon diagnosis. Recently, however, I've come across a few studies saying that in ER+/PR+ breast cancer, progesterone can be protective because it binds to the receptors on breast cancer cells that estrogen would, thereby causing cell death (I'm sure I'm oversimplifying here and there are other theories about why it may be protective). I'm curious to know if anyone has been working on balancing their hormones and monitoring their estrogen metabolites to see how well they are converting and excreting estrogen from the body.

Here's a large clinical trial going on to see if a progesterone agonist will amplify the effectiveness of Letrozole, for example.

    hi dear

I was on progesterone and estrogen cream for a siezure disorder initially. Bio identical hormones which caused breast cancer after only 3 years ?! Wrong thing for me . I’ve read studies and I believe progesterone works for some people . I get my estrogen levels studied since used to with the Neuroloical dr . Have your hormones tested with a dr and then see what they say . I personally wouldn’t risk it and I am not progesterone positive either . New things and theories come up all the time .

    Good luck
