Rash after biopsy- reaction to ultrasound gel?

has anyone had a reaction to the ultrasound gel? Had my biopsy yesterday and now have a rash all over my breast. Assuming it’s from the gel since I couldn’t shower after.

Is this something to be concerned anout? Is it a safe assumption that it’s from the gel and nothing more seriou

    It could also be from the disinfectant that they use on the skin before biopsies - they really spread that stuff over a large area. I found out after a biopsy that I get a rash from chlorhexidine which is the most frequently used disinfectant, at least in my experience. Apparently it’s not uncommon for people to get skin reactions to it. Regardless- definitely call the doctor’s office and describe what you’re experiencing. If for no other reason than to document it so they can try to avoid it with any future procedures. Hopefully they sent you home with an instruction sheet with “call this number if problems” info.
