Exercise during/after chemo?

Before my diagnosis in August, a poorly managed GI issue had caused me to gain about 30 pounds from what I consider to be my healthiest weight. I then had BMX with immediate reconstruction in October, but not before I tore my calf muscle in September and was non-weight-bearing for six weeks. I started chemo in November, and I've finished my AC regimen. I start 12 rounds of Taxol next week.

Before all of this, I was quite athletic - running at least 25 miles per week, playing tennis 3x/week, hiking, biking, weight training. Being out of shape has taken a mental toll as well as physical, and I'd like to work specifically on lowering my body fat (fat produces estrogen, which feeds my cancer).

My MO said no cardio/elevated heart rate while on AC. I see him next week, but in the meantime, did anybody hear from their MO on when it's safe to resume more strenuous exercise? It doesn't take much to raise my heart rate these days, so I want to be safe but would love to get some movement going.

    yoga

was a runner like you and didn't do yoga until dx and chemo then did yoga to help prepare my body for mastectomy. Found so much more in yoga-- a level of acceptance and place to reconnect to a body I didn't recognize and was trying to help
