PLEASE Help - Core Biopsy Results

Can anyone help me to understand the following Core Biopsy Results please…freaking out just a little

There is atypical ducal hyperplasia with apocrine features, focally bordering on ductal carcinoma in situ arising in a background of papilloma. Appropriately controlled immunostains for CK5/6, p63, smooth muscle myosin are obtained, which highlight the myoepithelial cells at the periphery. ER is positive.

Is this the same biopsy from your other post? Have you still not been able to talk to your doctor yet?

I cannot get anyone to tell me anything other than I’ve been referred to a surgical oncologist but they have not set up an appointment yet nor will they let me speak to anyone that can interpret the results.

Specifically, I’m trying to figure out if they are saying there is a DCIS boarder on the ADH or if the ADH is bordering on being classified as DCIS.

It also says ER positive…what is ER positive??

Thank you so for the information links, I’ve read it but still don’t quite understand them.

One last question, are normal or benign cells usually classified as ER positive?

They don't test normal cells for that. I don't know about benign conditions. Probably not?

Thanks again, that’s what I thought and because the report says ER Positive it lead me to think the diagnosis was that of a DCIS
