Lot sense of taste

Hello. I had a lumpectomy with sentinel node biopsy two days ago, and I seem to have lost my sense of taste. I haven't had any treatment yet so I know it's not that. Is this a common side effect of anesthesia maybe? I tested negative for covid two days ago, but I guess I will test again just to be sure.

I've never heard of this relating to surgery, but I suppose it could be an effect of the anesthesia. You can always call the surgeon's office and check with the nurse, if you want to check. But yes, my first thought is covid. Please test again, and if you're using a home test remember they are somewhat less accurate than the PCR tests, and even PCR tests can miss very early infections.

    Good luck.

BlueGreenBaby - I hope you come back negative on the next test. I've never experienced loss of taste until I started treatment. The MO told me that everyone has different SE's to anesthesia, maybe loss of taste is yours. I hope it comes back soon!

I have a covid test scheduled for Tuesday, but today it seems fine to me so who knows. I've googled whether that is a side effect of anesthesia and Google says yes. Obviously don't believe everything you read on the internet lol. Hopefully my test comes back negative on Tuesday.
