edited December 2021 in Not Diagnosed But Worried

Hi All

Need some encouragement here....been a week since my biopsy and have heard nothing yet....this is what was posted on my chart and not good with the lingo

EXAMINATION FINDINGS: History: The patient was referred for stereotactic biopsy of calcified lesions in the right breast. COMPARISON: Mammograms and ultrasonogram 8/11/2021 from the Headwaters Health Care Centre. PROCEDURE AND FINDINGS: The outside imaging studies were reviewed. The mammograms did not include the lesion of concern on the right CC view. This was also not evaluated by the outside ultrasonogram. A right mammogram was performed in standard projections. There are 3 foci of abnormality in the 9:00 radian of the right breast, posterior third. 2 groups of microcalcifications seen associated with a small nodular soft tissue density measuring a combined size of 1.3 cm. This is elongated. The other lesion is more posterior with a 0.7 cm nodular lesion, with a small area of calcification. The third group of calcifications more anteriorly is scattered, not suspicious and not associated with any soft tissue abnormality. The small well marginated ellipsoidal nodule in the anterior right breast is seen at the 5:00 radian. The largest of the lesion measuring up to 1.3 cm with microcalcifications what targeted for stereotactic biopsy. The plan was discussed with the patient. We will perform stereotactic guided biopsy of the 2 largest group of calcifications on the present study. Further management will depend on the histopathology results. A lateral to medial approach was utilized in the MLO projection. The more posterior group of calcification was targeted first. However, following the stereotactic guided biopsy and 6 specimens were obtained, none of specimen containing any calcification. The respective, a hydromark clip was placed. A followup mammogram obtained during the biopsy setting demonstrated the clip is related more medial than the calcifications. As originally planned, a second stereotactic guided biopsy was performed in the area of the mass in the calcifications in the more anterior aspect with 6 passes. 2 of the specimens demonstrated calcifications. A second hydromark clip was placed. A followup mammogram obtained during the biopsy setting demonstrated the clip is related to deeper than the calcifications. Further intervention was not performed. The patient tolerated the procedure well with no immediate complications. IMPRESSION: Stereotactic biopsy was performed over the 2 most suspicious groups of calcifications in the 9:00 radian of the right breast. The first pass at the more posterior group of calcifications was probably compromised by motion in between the localization and the needle placement. Successful biopsy of the more anterior group of calcifications was obtained. Depending on the histopathology results, further recommendation as to any further stereotactic guided biopsy will be evaluated and reported subsequently. I don't see anything about the biopsy result. This just looks like the report about the biopsy itself, it says it was successfully performed and then mentions waiting on the results.

The same report is repeated three times though so you can take two out if you want to make it easier for people to read!
