Liver Mets and menopause?

Options

so I originally had stage 3 TNBC - multiple nodes positive. Had chemo, surgery, rads.

I had a bilateral tube removal as I’m BRCA1 positive. My gyn onc agreed to leave my ovaries so I could avoid menopause and then take them closer to my 40s. I’ve had regular periods since I finished chemo in 2020. I had the operation Sept 29. I had a regular period shortly after and then another regular period around Halloween. But now - I’m nearly a month late.

Hubby had a vasectomy in 2016 and I have no tubes, so pregnancy isn’t possible. Home test was neg anyway. But now my ride side abdomen is swollen and tender under my ribs. My urine looks like tea even when hydrated. Oncology wants to do scans with concerns of liver mets since liver problems can cause missed periods. And only taking the tubes should not have caused menopause.

Any ideas?
I’m so worried. I’m only 32 😔

I am so sorry you are dealing with this. So young; so unfair.

Swelling could be a host of things, as could dark urine...even what you eat can cause dark urine (I had quite the scare after some beets in my salad!). I'm glad your onco is being proactive and checking to see what it could be. Post surgical issues can happen even months down the road, so it could be an unpleasant something but not cancer necessarily.

I would also consider kidney stones or kidney infection.

Post back to let us know how you do. Best to you.

I just scared the crap out of myself with some really strange looking urine (especially when I had to hand over a sample last week while they were checking for something else) that was concentrated and kinda tinted a bit orange, even though I hadn't had any cheetos or anything like that. And throughout last week certain times of the morning/early afternoon it was always that same concentrated color even though I was hydrated.

Figured out it was the cranberry juice I was drinking in the mornings, though diluted with water. Partner knows I like to drink this so kept bringing it home, only he brings home the wrong kind! I stopped it and the weird urine colors stopped too. Have you had any change in medication or eating or supplements or anything else?

As wallycat says - its good they are on top of this now and paying attention. If it does turn out to be mets, the active ladies on the liver mets board will be more than helpful with lots of ideas and encouragement.
