Hello, I'm new here and completely overwhelmed! After 16 years BC free I was diagnosed again in my right breast again! I was told I needed a mastectomy because of previous radiation. I said immediately take both! After gene testing, and breast MRI they found a lump on the left too. Again take the left! The biopsy came back benign. After my surgery in November at the follow up they said the reduction tissue on the left showed cancer! So I have to go through all over on December 29th for a left mastectomy! I am still healing on the right and overwhelmed!

Rddm - so sorry you had to go through this. Idiots for not honoring your wishes and taking them both at one time. Take care.

Rddm I am truly sorry that your wishes were not followed. I had no pushback when I elected to remove both breasts. That is unbelievably frustrating that you have had this experience. (((Hugs)))

Rddm, so sorry you have had to endure this. When I elected to have both my breasts removed my nurse navigator tried to discourage it and really made me feel bad about choosing to remove a "healthy breast." Ultimately, it was my decision and the BS honored it. As if it's not difficult enough that you are having to go through this. I'm so sorry. Sending you warm wishes.

It sounds like a roller coaster of feelings, first benign, then not. I'd feel overwhelmed too.

The good thing about it though is that you had it both done now. After all you can't have a third mastectomy.

    Sending you healing vibes.

    *hugs*
