Worried and not diagnosed
Hello Everyone and thank you for your guidance and wealth of knowledge.
I had my first Mammogram a few weeks ago (age related only). The tech warned me not to get worried if i was called back for further testing as the radiologist was extremely particular especially with nothing else to go on. Well she was right! I had a call back did another mammo then an ultrasound (the gentlemen that did this was cold and rude )...I then get a call over 10 days later stating i need a biopsy. Thats when my life turned upside down I have severe health anxiety ( my sister died at 52 and my mom 5 years ago. No relation to BC) and this has got me over the edge. My doc referred my to my surgeon (had a colonoscopy with him) and he check all and said everything feels fine. We need to still do a biopsy B -4 he said and i need to do two different ones. One is mammo guided and the other is ultrasound guided. Micro cal less then 12 mm and nodule less then 1 cm...im worried beyond sick. Does anyone have any words of encouragement? No mention at all of lymph TIA

Mhutton - The worst part of all of this is the waiting. We have all (meaning those of us on this site) been there. Try to keep yourself busy with things you enjoy, it will make time go by a little faster. As far as the anxiety, you may want to call and discuss with your PCP. I wish I could give you better advice.I hope everything comes back in your favor. Sending you positive vibes and warm thoughts.

MHutton, it’s great your doctor is ordering the two guided biopsies! They are very precise, so you should end up feeling good about the accuracy of the results! I have found some radiologists and anesthesiologists to be rather robotic, which stinks when you’re scared, but probably made them excellent med students, lol!
If you’re worried about lymph node involvement, I don’t think they really know for sure until surgery or a lymph node biopsy. Maybe just focus on the two biopsies you have coming up rather than borrowing trouble? I know that’s easier said than done during this initial waiting stage. It’s a busy time of year, so maybe you could get involved in a coat drive, mail holiday cards, etc. For sure speak with your doctor about getting something for anxiety. It’s easy enough to feel terrified at the possible dx without already having known health anxiety! You don’t have to take it forever, but it can help get through this time

I just realized you are the same person who posted the radiology report. It would be a good idea to combine them into a single post so it's easier for people to keep track!
