Letrozole - numbness and tingling in toes?

Options

My oncologist says this is not a side affect...but it started about 4 months after taking it.

Any one else? Neuropathy...

edited to add: no chemo, early stage

I don't know if you had chemo, but chemo can cause that. I got it from Taxol (paclitaxel) and it's never gone away, 2 1/2 years later. I take letrozole also and get tingling in my hands and feet, but I don't know if it's the permanent damage from the chemo or if it's from the letrozole. I don't have a citation, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that letrozole can cause tingling - it's a symptoms of low estrogen and goes with menopause too apparently. Beware of more extensive tingling, pins and needles, etc., as it can be a sign of an electrolyte problem too; something I have experienced a lot since taking letrozole. Low potassium can cause that tingling too.

I developed neuropathy on Femara and Ibrance. Didn't know what it was at first. At first numbness was vague, came and went, then became persistent and from lower calf to feet. When I called MO the nurse said it was Femara, though someone once posted early literature for Ibrance listed it as SE. Fortunately mine has been more numbness than shooting pains. I've moved onto stage iv chemos so neuropathy is unavoidable.

Can have many causes. Diabetes is a big cause. Spine issues too. Check in with your PCP. We tend to blame everything on cancer and tx. Sometimes it’s something else.

hmmm I have it in both hands but not in my feet. My chiropractor said it was carpal tunnel. Started around the 2 month mark. I decided to switch manufacturers and see if that helps. Accord was who I got first and requested Teva with my refill.
