Hello, I am starting this topic on behalf of my brother wife, 42 years old, mother of great 4 kids. I am devastated. She gave me her tests to see if I could get something positive, she is bad in English.

This are latest results:

ER 0, PR 0, HER-2: 1+ (negative), Ki-67:30%, Grade II, Lump size 5cm

AR: 80%, EGFR negative, CK5/14 negative, anti-PD-L1 negative

On monday she is starting chemo. I don't know what this data means. Everyone is confused and saddened.

Hi BrotherInLaw. Thanks for helping your sister-in-law with this. I don't know what this all means, either. The ER 0, PR 0, HER-2 1+ (negative) looks like it means she has tested negative (no evidence) of receptors for estrogen or progesterone, and that the doctors are reading the HER-2 component as negative, too. That would mean she is diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Does that sound like what she has heard?

Here is some information from this site on triple negative (you'll also see it here as TNBC). It will explain much better than I can. There are several more related links, too.

    https://www.breastcancer.org/symptoms/types/triple...

The chemo can be hard with side effects, but there are a lot of medications that can help her with that. If she is feeling sick to her stomach, for instance, she can get help with managing it.

Are you serving as an interpreter for her with her medical team, too?

Thank you on your support. It seems is triple negative breast cancer, I think that she confirmed it.

With this cancer, are there some additional helpers ingredients , what about cannabinoid mixtures, or new medicine Trodelvy (sacituzumab govitecan-hziy), which helps in latter phases.

BrotherInLaw- I hope your SisterInLaw brings someone fluent in English to all of her appointments. Even those of us for whom English is our first language, need someone else there to comprehend what the medical professionals are saying, to take notes and to make sure all of our questions are asked and answered. So glad for her that she has you and other family members to help her through this.

BIL, there is a comment thread just for triple negative patients. You are very welcome to ask any questions there.

    https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/72/topics...

My tumor was triple negative, too. It was small, stage 1, no lymph node involvement. Because of that I had surgery first, then chemo, then radiation. I didn't have Trodelvy so can't speak to that. But others with different circumstances can tell you a lot more.

Also there is a website called Chemocare, which has information about all the different kinds of chemos and their side effects. You might find it interesting and helpful.

Please give her my best regards. It will be a hard time for her and those who love her and depend on her. Tell her that one of the things we say here is, "You don't need to be brave. You just need to show up." It's hard to go through treatment, and it's frightening, but she can do it. Just focus on doing the next thing.
