Hi all........

I am probably being crazy, but when I got ready for bed 2 nights ago, I saw some red spots, looks like broken capillaries almost, on my breast that 's been radiated 3 years ago. I had a 3mm IDC, lumpectomy and rads. Have been on letrozole, just coming off a 3 month break.

Anyway, I do not have any of the warning signs, but just this strange couple of red spots. I have no idea how this happened suddenly. I'm thinking about calling for an appointment with my MO. She's a kind lady and I wouldn't feel too silly going to get this checked out.

It appeared so suddenly. Literally was fine in the AM, then bam... red spots. I check my breasts nearly every time I take a shower, it wasn't there in the morning. No other lumps or nodes or anything else suspicious. It's not swollen, heavy, itchy or orange peel texture. 2 spots about a dime size.

Can this happen so soon in a radiated breast? I will probably give it till Monday and I'm documenting with pics on my phone. Have told no one.

If you're concerned then definitely have it checked. IBC is rare so chances are excellent that you don't have it. As far as "can it happen so soon?"... yes, unfortunately cancer doesn't have a time limit. Try not to worry, but keep an eye on it and see the doctor if you are alarmed. My best to you.

I'm coming back today to report that all the redness has faded. It looked like one of the spots was bruising, altho I have no idea how that happened. It just goes to show, however, how we must remain vigilant. I'm definitely giving thanks that things seem to be back to normal.

Thanks for reporting back, and I'm happy that everything seems normal! Keeping "abreast" of any changes in our bodies is a good thing for cancer survivors.
