Which Generic Brand of Tamoxifen Do You Take?

I've read that different generic brands of Tamoxifen can cause (or amplify) different side effects.

I know that docs poo poo this, but I have experienced it myself with my blood pressure meds. I also know that everyone is different, but I am curious what brand anyone who is on Tamoxifen is taking (particularly if you are post-menopausal) and if you have had good luck.

So far what I am hearing is Mylan seems to have the least side effects. But then I read something that said Mylan doesn't make low dose pills. I'm starting very low (5mg) so will need to cut them anyway.

If Mylan won't work what is 2nd best? My BCS said to give any new drug 8 weeks, but I hate to be doing trials of 8 weeks for different brands that make my life miserable if there are others that will make it less so.

Macdebbie: Mine are 10mg pills manufactured in Israel by Teva Pharmaceutical and distributed by Mayne Pharma, Greenville, NC. Side effects are tolerable.

Over three years I have had most of the generics and have not noticed any difference in the SEs. Others may have different experiences as the SEs apparently are very individualized.

right now I’m taking Mayne but have taken other brands,it has made no difference, side effects the same, upset stomach and insomnia and dry skin for the past almost 3 yr

I'm not on it anymore but I did well on Teva/Mayne but started getting heartburn after starting Aurobindo and having one get briefly stuck going down (I get esophageal spasms at times). That said, I stopped the tamoxifen in June, but still have heartburn issues. One thing probably didn't cause the other.
