Large DCIS - Your experience?

Hi All! I'm looking for people with similar experiences. I was diagnosed with DCIS, but the doctors made it very clear that it could actually be invasive once we see the full masses. My largest mass was 8cm x 11cm x 12 cm. I had several more masses through the breast as well. It was VERY visible to the naked eye and I was having discharge. I also had 9 suspicious lymph nodes and they removed my 6 sentinel ones.

I just had a DMX done in Wednesday and am waiting on my full pathology. I guess I'm wondering what the chances are that this could still just be DCIS and has not become invasive. Waiting for the results is brutal.

    Hi Amacadams,

I had nipple discharge. I had a lumpectomy and I was diagnosed with 4cm of DCIS grade 1, with 1 positive margin. I had a second lumpectomy to clear the margins and DCIS were noticed in another segment so I was diagnosed with mulfocal DCIS and some LCIS. Again this time there was 1 positive margin.I underwent a mastectomy and I was diagnosed with 4mm IDC grade 1 and 6cm of DCIS grade 2 this time. I wish you the best and good luck with your results.
