BI-RADS 4 - waiting for results from biopsy

Hi All!

I'm waiting for the results of my biopsy for 1.9cm hypoechoic oval mass with an indistinct margin. That's all the findings say. I'm praying that it comes back benign but the fact that it has indistinct margins is really worrying me. The radiologist that did the biopsy did say that he thought the margins looked smooth and circumscribed like a fibroadenoma but unfortunately that doesn't make me feel any better. It's frustrating that the radiologists had two different opinions on the margins as that seems pretty important to get right! I was rated a BI-RADS 4 - they didn't break it down further into a,b or c which is also frustrating as that would give me some idea of my risk!

I think a 4 without a letter is basically ruling out cancer. I am hopeful you will get a benign result! And soon. Let us know. Waiting sucks.

Thank you! Waiting is incredibly hard and I still have another 4 or 5 days to go.

These are scary times for people and the waiting is soooo difficult. Keep in mind BIRADS 4 comes back benign 75-80% of the time. I had several call backs and even two biopsies that came back benign... I'm hoping that is true for you as well. Please let us know when you hear something....
