Hello everyone.

I asked my question under my original post and thought I might ask here as well to get feedback, if possible.

Is anyone on a regimen of Paclitaxel, Herceptin and Perjeta? The doctor recommended this clinical trial for me. I have IDC about 2.1 cm, right breast, estrogen and progesterone positive and HER2 +. I still don't understand what everything means, sorry.

Anyone else willing to share your experiences with this regimen?

Thanks and take care.

Do you know the name or alpha number for the trial?

This sounds like pretty standard treatment for neoadjuvant Stage 2, not a clinical trial

olma, the standard is TC, instead of only Taxol. I had seen some talks about whether the TC is not really required and just Taxol might be the trick. Most probably this is one of the trials to test it?

yes, that is possible - although back in 2017 when I was diagnosed at Stage 2 my onc was going to use just Taxotere,H&P as long as I was ok with it.

But you’re right, and that doesn’t mean there aren’t trials going on to measure results of taxanes alone

    Hello everyone.

The name is CompassHER2 Trials (NCT04266249). My understanding it's the three drugs I listed above instead of four (with carboplatin).

    Anyone on a similar regimen?

    Thanks.

Hi Lollypop, you seem to have a triple positive breast cancer (ER+, PR+, HER2+), and there is a thread for that that we're happy to have you join, too. I think you should keep this one going as well, as this seems like a new and interesting thing.

I'm on weekly taxol + herceptin, but no perjeta. This is being given after lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy. What is the sequence for you?

After that I'll have radiation and continue with herceptin but only every 3 weeks instead of every week, and at some point will be on hormone blockers for probably 7 years.

For me, I've never had just herceptin or just taxol, so I can't really distinguish all side effects, except for ones that are well known, like taxol makes you feel tired, affects your bone marrow (for me, I'm just a bit anemic), can cause neuropathy in the hands and feet (after 8 weeks, just my finger tips seem to be most affected), and causes hair loss (for me, I'm cold capping, so head hair loss has been pretty minimal so far). Herceptin can cause temporary cardiac issues, and you will likely get some echocardiograms periodically to assess this.

Best of luck to you, and keep us posted!

I began the CompassHer2 clinical trial on 10/4.
