Incision is taking a while to heal

The incision from my left-breast mastectomy is taking a long time to heal, and I am not sure if I should worry about this. I will see my plastic surgeon on Tuesday and will of course ask him about this, but in the meantime I would like to get a sense of how long it might take to heal based on the experience of others here. The bottom line is that it's been ten weeks* since my second fill, and my incision is still not healed, afaik. My question: Whether anyone else has had their incision take ten weeks (or longer) to heal? If so, how long did it take, and what did you/ your PS do other than wait?

*My timeline:

• 6/25 - unilateral (left breast) mastectomy and tissue expander placement
• 7/23 - first TE fill
• 8/6 - second TE fill
• 8/20 - PS decided not to do third TE fill because the incision was not healing well (I think the problem was there was some necrosis), and a surgery to deal with that was scheduled
• 9/9 - incision surgery
• 9/30 - incision surgery post-op visit; PS say incision still needs time to heal
• 10/19 - upcoming appointment w PS, possible third fill? Or might the PS say the incision is still not fully healed? We shall see about that soon.

nayabean - I am questioning any fills at all with an unhealed incision - all that does is put pressure on the incision, and if in your shoes, I would inquire about removing some of the fill from the tissue expander to give the skin some laxity. I had extensive necrosis and many subsequent surgeries to deal with this - expander loss, implant loss, fat grafting, etc. I would advise asking about arnica montana, zinc, and bromelaine supplements - all thought to help with healing. Also ask about hyperbaric chamber for wound healing, and try to eat 100g of protein a day.

I’m having necrosis issues as well. Special k can you please share your experiences with me. My surgeon is waiting another week to see what it’s going to do. Will I lose my expanders? They aren’t filled yet? I’m putting polysporin on it daily, taking a zinc supplement, vitamin c is there anything else I can do?
