asking for your suggestions for scars

Hello everyone!

First, thanks so much to those of you who replied to my previous post 2 months ago (post DIEP). They were very encouraging. I also appreciated reading other posts and comments.

I'm now around 2 months out, and still quite fatigued but feeling soooo much better.

I'm able to now do scar tissue massage and was wondering if any of you have recommendations for specific silicone scar sheets. They seem super $$$ at the pharmacy - which ones did you use and were they helpful? Any advise/considerations?

I also read someone use medihoney - have you used that as well for scars?

Limona - Sorry, you must have had a recurrence since your stats say 2017.

The first person you should ask or check with is your doc. They may not approve of many things. That said, I used Mederma.

Limonia, I also used the Moderna scar sheets. They are expensive, but you can cut them up so that they only cover the needed areas. I think they helped, but it really takes a commitment to clean them and use them daily for several months.

Thanks for taking the time and suggestion! No reoccurance (as far as I know!), I had a delayed Diep aug 2021 from my initial 2017 surgery, it's a long story! :-)
