Neuropathy or low calcium?

Options

I started one dose of the dense Taxol that is every two weeks for 8 weeks instead of the weekly every 12 weeks. I am already having numbness and tingling in my hands and feet. My calcium level was low but they though it was because my albumin was low and causing a false low reading of the calcium. I am also having a slight tremor in my right first finger. I have send a message to my oncologist but have not heard back yet. Should I start a calcium supplement? I know low calcium can cause bone loss and even heart problems so I'm concerned.

daenerys30, Hopefully, you will hear back from your MO soon. I'm not sure my remedy will help you, since my chemo was cytoxan and taxotere, not dose dense taxol. But, I took 500mg Vit C and 500 B-Complex during chemo to keep neuropathy at bay. I have recommended it with great success to 2 other ladies going through the same process I did. Keep advocating for your self until you get an answer. Good luck.

How low was your calcium, and did they give you a corrected calcium level? They are correct that a low albumin will skew a calcium level.

they did give me a corrected level. I'm just being paranoid. The oncologist called and recommended gabapentin and l-glutamine for neuropathy. I'm also having lower back spasms that run up my back and are pretty painful. I tried ibuprofen and heat. Right now I have an Icy Hot patch on my back so I can work. Oncologist is not sure if this is from chemo or not. Also suggested gabapentin at night so I'll pick up the prescription today.
