Lumpectomy Site Changes-16 years later

Options

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I have posted here. I lurk from time to time. I am scheduled for a diagnostic mammo and us in late Oct. I have noticed some changes in both breasts here recently. I went in for a check up with my BS and she said my right (unaffected) breast felt nodular so she ordered the mammo and us. When I got home over the next couple of days I noticed my lumpectomy side seemed different as well. More nodular too. I have lost about 50 pounds and was wondering if anyone has experienced this with weight loss? I am 16 years out from original diagnosis which was stage 1 with 4 to 5 cells in one node. Any advice for when you were diagnosed a second time would be great.

I lost a bunch of weight and when I went in for my screening mammo the radio tech could see right away that there was a difference between my previous scans and my current breasts. But she didn't mention anything about nodes in specific. She did make a note in my chart and have to adjust the machine.

I think our breasts also change as we age so between the aging and the weight loss, I wouldn't jump to a recurrence just yet.

    Good luck!!

Thank you for replying. I figured it was just the weight loss. My thyroid is freaking out too. Our diagnosis is pretty similar. I was diagnosed at age 32.

The weight loss makes sense. Hopefully the mammo came back with all good news.
