Replacing Implants after 10 years??

Hi there!! I'm in process of trying to get an MRI on L side as I have been feeling 'ripples' and what feels like the outer shell protruding out in little points here and there and thinking I have a slow rupture as never felt like this before. Just started @ 3 months ago. These implants are 10 years old which they estimate to be the shelf life.. I'll find out thru MRI if I have a rupture, which I'm thinking I might. My question is.... Has anyone here experienced this? And if anyone here HAS had implants replaced after 10 years or so.... what was surgery and recouperation like? I had a double MX which took long time to heal and regain strength etc... is it the same/similar? Or easier? Needing to know for work etc... Thanks in advance!

I have the same question. I got an MRI and just found thatyes, there is "intracapsular" rupture of one implant. My implants are about 11 years old.

bluefoot, sorry to hear that. Maybe someone that's been thru it will chime in. I see my GP on Monday who will then need to order an MRI so not sure when that will be yet. Have you seen a doctor yet to discuss replacement?
