Fat grafting- how painful???

I am having fat grafting at the 3-4 month mark post BMX direct to implant. I was speaking with someone who had a BMX and fat grafting and she said the lipo and grafting was more painful than the BMX. I’ll probably go through with it regardless of the pain factor but I want to prepare myself and schedule enough downtime.

hi Emin, it's pretty ouchy for a few days. Compression garments help. I just had fat taken from my abdomen and I bruised quite a bit. I think I took a week off work but I worked on a busy surgical floor at the time. . A desk job wouldn't require being off as long. Good luck!

I had fat grafting a few times sourced from my thighs every time. Lots of bruising and yes sore getting up and down for a few days but manageable. My mastectomy pain was far worse.

Definitely not as painful as BMX but certainly uncomfortable. I had it taken from my abdomen and thighs and was very bruised.

Everyone is different but I thought the lipo pain was way worse than the mastectomy. Compression definitely helped but I couldn’t go back to work for 2 weeks. I didn’t have any pain to speak of in my foobs just my abdomen.

I had it along with my exchange in July, I was sore, probably took Tylenol twice in the first week, nothing after. I thought it was going to be much worse. My BMX hurt more, but nothing I couldn't handle with Ibuprofen and Tylenol. I have to fat grafting done again in January, but this time to include my thighs, which I hear is a bit more sensitive. Everyone's pain tolerance is different. I hope yours is as tolerable as mine was.
