Acid reflux
Wondering if anyone has dealt with acid reflux to the point of vomiting? Over the last year or so, I would have a little heartburn after eating acidic foods.. a Tums or Pepcid would take care of it and life goes on.
Had leftover pizza for dinner last night and felt fine after, but woke up in the middle of the night having to vomit. It was only once and I went right back to bed. This morning, I think I feel ok, but not trusting my stomach.
I will call my doc when they open, was just curious if anyone has experienced anything similar. At this point, I never know if it’s something innocent and just part of life, a side effect of medicines we are all on (nothing recently changed here) or something new.
<sigh> cancer sucks

I think I have read on this forum that Ibrance has caused acid reflux for some on here. What meds are you on and maybe someone on the particular drugs you are on can help? I personally have been dealing with acid reflux for a couple of years prior to being diagnosed with recurrence at stage 4. My gastric problems I believe were set off by either the radiation or all of the surgeries I had when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and I evidently had Celiac disease dormant in my system until it was activated by one of those activities and I think the Celiac disease set off my gastric issues, including the acid reflux. I eat gluten free and that cleared up all of the gastric issues except the acid reflux that I have noticed is getting a little worse and I have been on Ibrance for about 14 months.

Thanks, cowgal. It definitely could be the Ibrance. I’ve been on it for 4 years now.. between the medicine and tomato product consumed for dinner, that could likely have caused it. Just concerning because I haven’t vomited like that in years. I’ll still mention to my MO, but I feel better now. I need to see what I can do with my diet to help

When Pfizer changed from the capsules to tablets, I started having terrible reflux to the point I would wake up with vomit rushing up into my mouth. Pizza became a no go, I also had to switch to a low acid coffee. I was prescribed something for upset stomach which I took only when needed.
My MO got me back on the capsules two months ago and the reflux disappeared

@jensgotthis ~ how interesting! I wonder if that’s when mine started. It only began recently.. now that you say that, I wonder if it was the switch since I’ve been on it for a while and it’s just started recently. I didn’t end up calling my MO yesterday, but I will mention it to him on my next visit. Thanks for the onaight
