Looking to hear from others with Lupus and a mastectomy

Hoping to connect with anyone who has Lupus and has had mastectomy without as well as with reconstruction.

I had DCIS & Rads in 2013, contralateral DCIS & Rads 2017, and multiple types of atypia in the original breast in 2019.

My yearly MRI revealed ILC. Planning a mastectomy and sentinal node biopsy. I am deciding on unilateral now and contralateral later to lessen the surgical risks, vs bilateral mastectomy. I am debating recon.

Having Lupus and all the goes with it can increase surgical risks, and lengthen recovery. Would love to hear others experiences.

THANK YOU in advance

Hi - I was just diagnosed but have auto immune condition scleroderma, a connective tissue disease. I've been reading about some of the concerns, particularly with radiation for people with both lupus and scleroderma so I am also hoping someone can provide more information. I am clinically staged as 2B, invasive ductal and lobular in left breast with axillary lymph node involvement. Waiting for surgery date. I am wondering what complications can arise with surgery, chemo and radiation for those with auto immune conditions, particularly connective tissue auto immune diseases.

    Thank you!
