abraxane
Is there a board for abraxane? I’m starting that treatment soon. I’m looking to see what to expect. 2nd diagnosis of TNBC 8/21. Thanks

Hi StaynStrong2, sorry you find yourself here.
I don't think we have a thread for it, or if we do, it's not super active. I'd suggest checking out the weekly taxol thread as abraxane is the sister drug (taxol is paclitaxel vs. abraxane = nab-paclitaxel). Also just join the August or September chemo threads.I've done both, doing Abraxane now. It's a faster drip that Taxol, only requires 30 min for me, no pre-meds. It can get hung up in the pump as it's quite thick and milky so sometimes there are delays just because the pump starts pulling from the piggy back saline back instead of the primay med bag. Side effects are similar to taxol, a bit less harsh on the WBC's but risk of neuropathy is same. I ice hands & feet during treatment for both. Fatigue, bone & muscle pain for a couple days post infusion but nothing that an OTC pain reliever and nap don't fix.

I'm on Abraxane as well as I couldn't tolerate paclitaxel. I am having shortness of breath, that for me is the worst side effect.
