Anyone have Breast implant issues after Covid vaccination?

I had seen four case studies of breast implant patients having issues following Covid vaccination and wondered if anyone had heard of or experienced this.

I know that lymph node swelling following vaccination was discussed in the media.

Capsular contracture is fundamentally an immunological/inflammatory response to the implant, treating it as a foreign body in need of exclusion from the immune system. The capsule surrounding the implant is populated by a rich variety of immunologically active cells such as macrophages, T lymphocytes, and myofibroblasts. Vaccination in general and the COVID-19 vaccine in particular result in specific and nonspecific activation of the immune system, including those immune cells in proximity to the implant. This phenomenon has been previously demonstrated in delayed inflammatory reactions to previously implanted hyaluronic acid fillers following COVID-19 vaccination. This report is what is believed to be the first case of the rapid development of severe ipsilateral capsular contracture in the immediate aftermath of the second dose.

A few daysafter the Pfizer vaccine my mastectomy/reconstruction breast is soar and irritated and very red. My face got blotches of red and felt on my neck as though someone was choking me.

I had no issues with implants after Covid vaccination wit Moderna. No impact on lymph nodes either.

pinkgirl09, very sorry to hear of your vaccine induced implant troubles. Ask your plastic surgeon about steroids, which may turn off your immune overreaction.

Just had my #3 Pfizer booster last week. No problems with my implants with any of the three. In fact no side effects at all with this last one except some redness & swelling at the injection site. No SEs with the first two either.

Hi ladies.

I had a while to write. I had surgery mid October total skin removal on breast and also removal of implant. Skin was removed from upper back and and brought on breast with muscle. I have an expander now and everything was going well until beginning of this week my skin started to become red. I went to the surgeon he didn’t fill this week. He put me on antibiotics for 7 days. I hope the redness goes away. I’ve never heard of this before. Hope all is well with everyone
