Worried I may have a recurrence.

Options

I was diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer in the left breast March 2015. The tumor was 3x4 cm. It had spread to 4 out of 5 lymphnodes. A few days ago I began to notice pain in the nipple area of the same breast. The nipple appears to be changing in appearance. Does this sound like a possible recurrence?

Edit: Last Monday, while on the ride home from our vacation I called my PCP's office. The receptionist got me in that afternoon. The NP examined my breasts. She prescribed an antibiotic and also sent in a script for a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound for both breasts. My appointment is tomorrow, Friday.

I have no idea what it could be and I doubt anyone here would hazard a guess based on the fact that none of us are doctors (well, maybe a few). Even if we were, it would be irresponsible to guess without access to your medical history and an in person exam. I just used a lot of words to say, please call your doctor if you are concerned! Take care

MariaTeresaG--anything is possible. I hope you'll see your doctor ASAP and get it checked out. Here's hoping that it's nothing of significance.

Bless your heart we all know you are scared. I wish we were able to DX what’s wrong so you could put your mind at ease.

What we can do is pray for you.

Keep the faith and let us know. Whatever it is you will get through it.
