Significant change between 2 ultrasounds. Biopsy recommended

Sept 2020 - I find a lump and see my doctor who wants to wait until after my period. Period for some reason does not come for 2 months and the lump is still there. I book an US for end of Jan.

Jan 2021 - US determined a likely benign mass. They thought it was probably a fibroadenoma but asked me to return in 6 months. I do not have a photo but it was very clean borders, oval shaped, 2 lobes.

Today I followed up on that US and it looks very different. The size is only a little bigger than before but there are at least 3 new lobes (so at least 5 total now). Radiologist said “cancer does not typically look like this but it is suspicious". Bi-Rad 4.

So now I am terrified. The only thing I can find that looks like this is a cumulous type, intermediate grade DCIS. They ultra-sounded near by lymph nodes and those looked fine. I have another lump in the same breast but they wouldn't check that one because it wasn't on the order (*eyeroll*). Anyway, I would love any thought anyone has.

    Welcome NLNBCAHA! Definitely stress provoking with what you're dealing with!!! So with BIRADS 4 I'm assuming they spoke with you about biopsy and see that is in your post title.... I do not know anything about the specific medical aspects you posted. Just want to send support.... It does not seem you have a biopsy date yet? Please let us know once you have that. Hopefully others will post any information they understand.....

    hello.

    My biopsy is on Monday and I expect results with in 2-3 days. I am trying to focus on the fact that the lymph nodes appeared normal and that’s a good sign.

    That is right around the corner for you which is helpful..... esp. when you expect to hear soon after about results. The waiting can be sooooo difficult as I'm sure you've read in many posts on this site. Best with the biopsy tomorrow! Please let us know when you hear something.... Also, ice, ice, ice will help after the biopsy....

    I had the biopsy today and will have results on Wednesday.

    The tech asked the doctor if he wanted a mamo too (I’ve never had one) and he said he didn’t think it was necessary. I am going to take that as a good sign for niw
