I just was diagnosed and agree to move forward with double masectomy and good for nipple conservation. Two days after diagnosis I met with the plastic surgeon and she was recommending implants with a LD or TUG and moving muscles around to the breast. I wanted to keep natural and no silicone and she said that Ill be lucky with a small B, if I get that. I later come here and see the option for DEIP, other flaps, combining different or DEIP and TUG, stacked DEIP. So I guess my question is- what is the benefit of using muscle with the flaps? I saw one location online that mentions structure but nothing else. Mostly, articles are about size and fullness. Id really appreciate any insight!!

Needless to say, all this is making me nervous and if you have any good recommendations for someone whose done this and enough to do try and save the nerve endings (saw a youtube video from a Doc in San Antonio, dated 2017 who says they can maintain keeping feeling in the breasts after DEIP if they do this routinely) but all I know how to do is Google. Any research advice is also welcomed. I live in Phoenix so there has to be a great center here with this experience.
