Is there anyone out there that has had a non skin sparing mastectomy with implants? Or expanders first then implants? I cannot find anything about it online. And surely there are people.

Surely not everyone that has non skin sparing has a Dflap! Isn't there anyone that has had some skin grafted only and implants???

I just trying to do research on my future surgery and can't find anything

Thank you guys in advance!

I have not had reconstruction yet it’s scheduled for 9/1. My PS said I could do a Latissimus flap with an expander then replace with an implant. I have decided on the diep flap surgery instead of the implants

Hi there, I have just had the first phase of reconstructive surgery early August. I had a left mastectomy last year, so this operation was to have tissue expanders inserted (delayed reconstruction) and then a mastectomy on the right with tissue expanders. The surgeon used Flex HD which is a type of alloderm. I had no donor sites and they are just stretching my skin (the left side is being stretched the most as that is the delayed reconstruction side). I did not have large breasts to start with and am happy to remain at around a 'c' cup, which is why I did not opt for the tram or diep flap. Implants will be inserted within 6 months depending on how the expansion goes.

Sorry just adding: the initial mastectomy (left side) last year did not spare the skin or nipple.
