hi, I have just found out I am brca1 positive and never had a mammogram so of course they are scheduling me for a digital one tomorrow. I looked up possible signs of BC and am now worried about 3 Mark's which looks like indented lines on the top of my right breast that I though were stretch marks, reading up on possible signs an indentation can be cancer. I have a couple on the other side too but not as long or indented. Might I add I am a DD. Is this concerning in anyone's experience?

Just about anything you get as an answer when you google "breast" will say cancer. Unless it gives you porn. 😄 You've got large breasts and stretch marks on both of them. Finding out you have the brca mutation does not turn your stretch marks into something ominous overnight. Get your mammogram so you'll have it for baseline comparisons, discuss any other genetic or health screening with your doctor and set up a schedule for future imaging, and then go enjoy the heck out of your life.

I totally get what you are saying. I guess I was a little concerned because I don't recall if they were indented or not before, I didn't pay that much attention as I am only 37 and had no idea I was such high risk. Also the skin seems to feel slightly different there. I am scheduled to get a digital mammogram soon as well.

Just wanted to point out that while BRCA positivity definitely makes you more likely to get breast cancer than the general public, it is not 100% nor does it mean you have cancer right this minute. Also, be prepared if this is your first screening mammo that it could throw up all sorts of areas that may need to be looked at closer, but does not mean you have cancer (especially with younger, larger and likely more dense breasts). Its just setting a baseline, and you should count yourself lucky you were able to learn about your status early and are now able to take the steps to get on a comprehensive screening schedule and risk mitigation plan.

Thought I would update for any others that may be concerned....I had a digital mammo result of birads 2. I have pimpling and clogged pores on the underside of both breasts and a small red mark on the top (with a little blood). Nurse said all normal things.
