Hey everyone!!!

Questions

1. The nulesta patch. As long as you took the antihistamines were your side effects too bad with it???

2. With AC. Did you have nausea even with all the extended nausea meds they put in the IV?

3. When does the fear of side effects go away???

Thank you for all the info in adv

    2. the anti nausea cocktails they use seem to vary from facility to facility and people respond differently to them. I had a lot of oral meds on top of the IV meds. Just know that if you do experience nausea, there is treatment. Let them know asap and they will change or increase your meds for next time.

Have you joined the monthly chemotherapy thread? Just reading through the experiences of everyone (I read a couple months ahead of mine) pretty much covered all my concerns and reassured me that I could handle it.

It will be ok - you'll get through it!

    1. I did not have any side effects from Neulasta Onpro.

    2. The oral anti-nausea medication Zofran was of little help for me during AC chemo. My doctor switched me to a transdermal patch that provided more relief. I didn't have any nausea during Taxol.

Everyone is different. Please don't hesitate to speak to your doctor about any side effects. Alternative medications and therapies are available.

*I didn't have any SE from Neulasta.

    * During AC, I took the anti-nausea meds exactly as prescribed. I felt I had a slight case of the stomach flu the first three days after chemo (but never threw up or anything) and then felt consistently better until the next round.

*For me, I was a lot more scared of chemo BEFORE I started it. Once I knew how it affected me, I was in more of a 'hurry up and get this over with' mode.

Thank you for your response ruthbru!!! I am praying that is how I feel. My anti nausea are only as needed as they put a long acting one in my port before starting. I feel pretty good so far. Praying it continues!

    Hugs for responding

    LoverofJesus,

For me, the side effects never really hit until Day 3, when the steroids wore off. So, don't be surprised if you feel crappy on Saturday. With AC, I had hear burn with my first infusion. But, the most disorienting part of AC was the chemo brain. I had to write everything out for myself so I could function at work.

    1) I had no side effects from Neulasta OnPro.

    2) I only remember one time needing to take Zofran, otherwise I had no nausea and I'm someone who gets motion sick if I'm in a car too long, so I was really worried about nausea in the beginning.

    3) All I can say is if you have any side effects that seem out of the norm, call your doctor's office or nurse line right away. Do not suffer through anything you do not have to.

    You will get through this!

The Claritin did take the edge off my bone aches from the Neulasta but how bad your bone aches are and how much the Claritin will help varies from person to person.

By my third infusion I had a pretty good idea of what to expect as far as side effects go. It wasn't a fun experience but it was tolerable and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again if necessary.

I originally said Claritin D but I recall now it was just the regular Claritin.
