i had Tram Flap surgery 13 years ago, recently, my donar site (tummy) appears some bruise mark where the around my navel & where the surgical clip located. I also had intermittent pain & tightening/muscle spasm sensation especially after exercises or movement. Feeling like my tummy immobilised my spine, every adjustment I made just don't feel right. I went back to the surgeon months ago, he just looked (no touching), and said his surgery is perfect and dismissed my concern.

Definitely time for a second opinion!

You need to get checked for truncal lymphedema. It seems to be very common after TRAM/DIEP flap surgery. I have it and my symptoms are identical to yours.

That's the bad news. The good news is that they don't consider truncal lymphedema nearly as concerning as lymphedema in a limb. That's because there are many more pathways for truncal lymph to be drained. It's annoying, but not as scary as lymphedema in other parts of your body.

Ask to see a lymphedema specialist for evaluation and massage therapy. It will help relieve your symptoms.

Good luck. Feel free to message me if you have more questions.

    Trish
