Newly diagnosed ovarian cancer
brca negative, but diagnosed with ovarian cancer 3 weeks ago. Anyone else. Finished breast cancer treatment six years ago. Just got another port put in yesterday. Just really bummed and kind of mad that I have another cancer.

I haven't had ovarian cancer - had my ovaries removed with everything else when I had endometrial cancer - but I wanted to send you a "hang in there" from another cancer crap magnet. 🤗

So sorry to hear this. Have you had a full panel genetic testing done? My sister and I are both chek2 positive and she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer this fall and I was diagnosed with breast cancer this March. We both had genetic testing prior to our cancer diagnosis due to family history of breast and ovarian cancer. What stage and type of ovarian cancer do you have? My sister has a very rare kind and unfortunately it’s stage

that's a great term! Cancer crap magnet. STEALING!!!
Thanks for your good wishes kiss

Hi Sarah,
I think your sisters stage got cut off, but using context, I’m guessing it’s not good 😞 I’m High grade serous and grade one or two (they’re not sure how to classify it, it was to go before the tumor board last week) it was in my right ovary and left tube, so some confusion.I did the genetic testing that was available seven years ago with my breast cancer diagnosis, but my onco will do more now.
I’m originally from the ‘burgh
Hope you and your sister are doing well. I start my new chemo tomorrow.

yes she’s stage 4. She started out as stage 3 but her cancer advanced while on the chemo. They switched the chemo drugs and her cancer in her lymph nodes is shrinking and her numbers are down !! So fantastic news. She has a rare type and her presentation was very rare. Found 18 mounts after a hysterectomy. It’s very unfortunate but it is what it is!
I start chemo in a couple weeks but my cancer was found early.
I do intend to get a hysterectomy as soon as I can because I don’t trust this chek2 gene. Likewise if my sister gets in remission and stays there her onc says for her to get a masectomy
Good luck in your trea

I have the most common type. They staged me as 2A. I would have preferred 1B. I would definitely get everything cut out of me if I had that mutation. Good luck to you recovering from your mastectomy! It’s not fun, bu you’ll get through it. Glad your sister is responding to treatment. I just finished my first chemo. Went very well!
-
oh 2a is very very hopeful!! I’m glad the first chemo went well. You’ve been through so much !
-
I know I shouldn’t be complaining, but I preferred my bc diagnosis of stage one. You mentioned having a hysterectomy. Will you get ovaries and the whole shebang out? I had tubes, ovaries, uterus, cervix and appendix. It’s like all my girl parts are rebelling! -
Oh I understand. It’s incredibly unfair you have to deal with two different cancers.
I haven’t had the hysterectomy yet- maybe in a year. After chemo and after my reconstruction surgery.
Have you started chemo yet for the ovarian cancer? My sister just got her results and her tumor markers are down again. That’s three times in a row. So thankful!!
I hate cancer! I’m so sorry you are dealing with this again. Can I ask you how old were you when diagnosed with BC? I was diagnosed at 4

I’m 53 now so 45. Another nice thing is all the doctors saying “oh you’re so young” 😂😂😂
I sure don’t feel young!
