Had Biopsy on Tuesday, And the Wait Continues!
Good Morning, All! First of all, I would like to thank all of you for this wonderful outlet!
My story: on May 18 (1 day after my 59th birthday) I found a lump in my left breast. I made a GYN appointment on the 20th. I had a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound on the 24th - results: BIRADS 5. This past Tuesday I had an ultrasound guided core biopsy. The biopsy was unpleasant, but tolerable. As long as I don’t “bounce down the stairs, I have no issues! I am now in wait mode, as are so many here....
I have met with an MO, and already have an appointment set with a surgeon for next week. This really has moved pretty quickly, but since Tuesday, time has seemed to have stopped! And sleep? Forget it! That is not happening!
Hopefully I will get “The Call” soon, so that we can put together a plan and I can move forward, and maybe be able to sleep again!
if you have read this far, thank you! And you are all in my thoughts and prayers
Lynn

Sending you support and best wishes for the wait, and strength for your treatment (if needed). I was first diagnosed at 59 —the mental struggles (mostly self imposed!) have been far worse than the physical! LOL-be brave or pretend to be—love that!

Waiting is so hard. Sending you hugs for comfort and strength

Thank you all~! Having a "tribe" to be able to talk to and have the understanding is a great comfort, even though I do have a good support system at home.
I will update as soon as I hear anything.
Thanks,
Lynn

What I found helpful was advice on this site - it may have been Beesie the Wise who told me (and countless others): You don't have to be brave; you just have to show up. That's it, and possibly the most important thing ever.

I agree Alice - I just love that saying!!! So true!!! Thanks for repeating.... worth doing over and over and over again!

I will definitely show up!🙂. I am now moving to the Just Diagnosed board. IDC and DCIS. ER+/PR-/HER-2-
