Worrying out loud here about bilateral masses

Still have a few weeks to wait for bx. Diagnostic mammo and U/S showed a mass on both breasts, one 2cm Birad 5) and one 1cm (Birad 4). The weird thing to me is that both masses are in almost the exact same place on each breast. Does it usually happen like this? Has anyone else experienced it? Is it even significant at all?

Also worrying about my lymph nodes even though they said they looked ok. I did see a few during the ultrasound and they looked normal according to pictures on the Internet. I know googling isn’t the best thing to do but it’s hard to stop when you’re worried. My concern is that the radiologist is sugarcoating the lymph nodes. But if they really looked abnormal to her, would she have scheduled the biopsy ASAP instead of waiting weeks? I’m receiving care at a major medical hospital with a well known breast center, if that makes a difference.

Seeing those Birad scores causes anxiety but I am trying to remember that a tumor suspicion score isn’t an actual diagnosis.

dr Google also isn’t the best place to get information about bilateral breast CA! Yikes!

I do understand the anxiety. The waiting is absolutely the hardest. Waiting my most recent biopsy (which turned out to be cancer) caused me so much stress and anxiety. I get it. I was birads 4b. I can’t speak of bilateral masses. I had one suspicious mass.

As far as lymph nodes, my mass was found on MRI because I was high risk. Then I had an ultrasound and biopsy via ultrasound. My lymph noded appeared fine on both MRI and ultrasound. And final surgical pathology report found my lymph nodes (the two they took) were benign. So your lymph nodes may very well be fine.

The waiting is hard. Be kind to yourself. Do what you can to be ok while you wait

    Hugs
