I am literally feeling beside myself right now. I went for my routine mammogram today and after an ultrasound and further imaging was told I needed a biopsy on a suspicious area in the same area where I had my cancer 5 years ago. I had a lumpectomy with radiation for a stage 1 cancer, 8mm of IDC no nodal involvement and had some DCIS too. My oncotype was 7.

I’ve religiously taken my Tamoxifen and been to all my follow up appointments and checks. This is the first year I’ve truly felt myself again and now here I am again and I already feel mentally drained.

I am not expecting it to be benign given my history but I may not be as lucky this time.

I don’t have the strength to cope right now. Feels better though putting this all down here.

Hi olive4- So sorry you’re going through this — scary and nerve wracking for sure! There’s a much better chance that your biopsy will be benign especially since you’ve had surgery and radiation. Both can result in changes that can only be determined by biopsy. I recently had to have a biopsy that ended up being fat necrosis which is caused by prior injury. It could also be scar tissue, etc. I’m wishing you the best.

Sending support Olive! I cannot imagine how nerve wracking and concerned you are... I hope you can get the biopsy soon to minimize waiting? The waiting you will have regardless will be difficult though the less the better. Still hoping benign for you - Jetcat and others on here have reported benign results after scares.... I hope you are one of these luckier ones...
