hi ! I am so worried

I got a email stating the following

REPORT:

There are scattered areas of fibroglandular density. There are no mammographic features of malignancy in the right breast. Within the left upper outer breast posteriorly is a suggestion of distortion and focal asymmetry. Additional mammographic views and possible ultrasound are recommended for further evaluation. The patient will be recalled by the Radiology department.

this was my first mammo & I am 40.

Doctor is not in but they sent me these results . No breast cancer history in my family

please does anyone have any advice ? I have my next appt on Monday but am so worried

This is a very common reason for a callback. Others can probably give more useful information, but I dealt with this with my first one back in October. Many of these turn out to be just a foldover of tissue. I had two areas show up, one disappeared on the followup (so folded tissue) and the other one looked like scar tissue. I was looked at again 6 months later and I have a complicated cyst in the area. There are many, many reasons for this and its very common. Good luck!!

Worrywart123, we understand how upsetting that can be, but indeed, callbacks are very frequent. Please keep us posted.
