Panicking over blood test results

Hello! I was recently diagnosed with IDC (mixed with DCIS). I met with the surgeon today and she was very encouraging about everything and I left the meeting feeling pretty good about things. She ordered some blood tests on the way out and I just got the results and I am panicking about what they might mean. Everything is within normal range except:

High platelet count

High bilirubin

I am freaking out about what this might indicate. Of course I have Googled and a high platelet count is associated with cancer (and apparently can correlate with metastatic cancer?) and high bilirubin can indicate liver issues (although the other liver markers were within normal range). So of course my mind if going to liver mets.

Has anyone had similarly high markers and, if so, what was the outcome?

how high is high? Blood work can vary from day to day -probably even hour to hour and sometimes it can even be completely wrong. did the surgeon say why the blood test? Is it just pre surgery blood work? I would not worry about i

My platelets were 420 K/uL (standard rage listed as 150 - 400 K/uL), so not super high. I also had a biopsy last week with A LOT of bruising and a large hematoma. I imagine those two thing could be related, but not sure about cause and effect (did I have the bruising because I have a high platelet count or did the bleeding cause the high platelet count?). I'm not totally sure how that works.

My bigger concern is the bilirubin - 1.8. I had standard blood work done in November (just as part of a yearly physical) and my bilirubin was also high then - 1.4. At the time, my PCP wasn't concerned because it was just barely above normal and my other liver tests were within normal range. But now, in 6 months, it has gone from 1.4 to 1.8. My other liver numbers remain within normal range.

The surgeon just ordered the test as part of due diligence prior to surgery, I believe. I am super worried about the bilirubin.

Bilirubin levels can go up due to stress or dehydration.

I have definitely been stressed lately! I hope that's all it is. But I am really panicking about possible mets. I'm still new to all of this and still don't know what anything really means, what has significance, and what doesn't.
