Trying not to worry
So I recently found out I was pregnant (yay) and during my first prenatal exam my OBGYN found a mass in my left breast and referred me for an ultrasound just to be safe
I was under the impression I would just have the ultrasound and review it with her in my next appointment but the lady that did my scan wanted a second opinion before sending me away so in comes the consultant. After a while of looking at scans and doing another exam himself he told me he was quite concerned as my lymph nodes are also swollen and that he can't conclusively say that the lump isn't something bad and that I need to come back in got a biopsy
Obviously I'm trying to stay calm, I'm already under quite a lot of stress with work and this being my first pregnancy (the morning sickness alone is almost too much to bear) but I'm trying my hardest to keep it together. My husband is understandably quite upset and worried for me (he felt a lump a little over a year ago and I thought nothing of it - I'm only 30 and with the pandemic I'd been putting things off, and now he's beating himself up about it for not pushing me to get it checked out)
Anyway, I have to wait until I'm well into my second trimester before they will do the biopsy, I'm currently only 9 weeks pregnant and so the waiting is kind of torture
Not sure what I'm trying to achieve by writing this post, but I guess I just want to get some worries off of my chest while still trying to stay strong Infront of my family

Hello,
Oh my goodness - take a breath and then do it again.

Now, that is a lot to unpack, but - congratulations on your baby!
Are you in the UK? I ask because you used the term 'consultant'. Did you get a written report from your radiologist? Since January 2021 in the US, we automatically must be provided with our records. Anyway, did your report indicate a BIRADS number? That is a universal indicator of how urgently the radiologist was concerned. Did he/she refer you to a breast surgeon? That is who you should be talking to next, if you are in the US. We have several UK members here who might be able to help as well.
Best of luck!

I found a lump in my armpit while I was pregnant with my second child. I had an ultrasound of my armpits and both breasts and they found a lump in my breast. They did the core needle biopsy right then and there if my armpit ans breast. I was in my second trimester at the time of the biopsy. It was rated a Birads 4. Can’t remember if it was an a or b or c. They determined it needed to come out surgically. They gave me the option of before or after delivery. I had it done around 27 weeks. Surgical excision was same day surgery. Pleased to report all lumps found during my pregnancy were benign.
My husband and I were also very scared to go through this while pregnant. But we got through it. This was 13 years ago. Hang in there I know the waiting is so hard.
