Hyperthyroidism or Thyroid Cancer

Options

Just got bloodwork back and my thyroglobulin antibody is 10.5 iu/ml. The lab report says normal is 0 to 0.9. High indicates thyroid cancer or hyperthyroid. While I may be overreacting, I don't think I am this time. I have all the symptoms and have for many years. Lump in throat (I thought was from radiation, but came back last week), very hyper, can't sleep even with a sleeping pill, muscle weakness, sensitivity to hot and cold, sweating, difficulty breathing, constant slight cough I thought was due to allergies. Also I have been radiated out the wazoo with radiation and CT scans. I am scared it is cancer but probably more likely hyperthyroid. Won't see Dr. til Monday. But ordering Dr. is a Rheumotologist so I assume I'll probably be referred to an Endochronologist.

Hi JRNJ, I was having trouble with my thyroid a few years ago. First I had an ultrasound that showed many small nodules then a ct scan. I was told my thyroid sometimes goes into the hyper mode. Whatever that means. I have routine ultrasounds and labs. The Endochronologist I saw wasn't a great help. Try to find one that doesn't just do diabetes and weight loss. My primary was the most helpful. Fingers X for you.

Flashlight, thanks for responding. Still freaking out that's it's cancer, but I feel like I have hyperthyroid. I fit all the symptoms and haven't slept in a week. I had a steroid shot 5 weeks ago and I think it is wearing off. I have an appointment on Monday, but will call tomorrow and see if they can get me in sooner. I don't want to be in the position like when I was dx with cancer. I was so shocked I went where ever they told me to go. I'm trying to get recommendations from friends now for a dr.

Lilyishere had thyroid issues too. Is the hormone therapy causing this or making it worse?
