Can I have cancer with one dimple in both breasts?

Two days ago I found a dimple/indentation in the inner/lower side of my right breast (two little dimples next to each other) and lump or just dense tissue underneath, she was not sure. My doctor examined my breasts today and she also found a dimpling in the inner lower side of my left breast (this one looks like a line).

She'll schedule a mammogram and ultrasound for me. I read in the internet that:

"Dimpling as a sign of breast cancer tends to occur in only one breast. If dimpling affects both breasts, the person probably does not have breast cancer".

Is this true? Is there any of you that was diagnosed with cancer after founding dimpling in both breasts?

I'm scared.

Yes, it is true. Only about 2% of people diagnosed with breast cancer are found to have cancer in both breasts at the same time.

If your breasts are symmetrical, i.e. the same on both sides, it's likely that what you are seeing is natural to your breasts.

Have you gained or lost weight lately? That can cause changes in the breast tissue that result in the appearance of dimpling.

Or have you been pregnant or breast-feeding?

Yes, I'm breastfeeding. I have been breastfeeding for 8 years. The indentations are both inner lower side of breasts. They are about 1 inch long each. They appear when I lift my arms.

My breasts look flat (diagonal) where the indentation are.

Thank you so much for your answer

Not saying this is what's causing the dimples in your case, but breastfeeding stretches the Cooper's ligaments, which can cause dimpling.
