Zoladex before Chemo - triple positive IDC

Hi everyone!

I am set to start chemo in the next two weeks, and I am currently exploring my options to try and preserve fertility. I am 34 and I have two beautiful kids now (3 and 4 years old). I always knew I wanted a third, but my husband wasn’t as sure, and so we don’t necessarily want to freeze eggs since we are not positive we would be using them. My doctor suggested Zoladex shots to help “turn off” my ovaries during chemo, and hopefully protect my eggs. I wanted to see if anyone else has taken the Zoladex shots that is triple positive IDC. I have found lots of research online for the effectiveness with triple NEGATIVE cancer, but not anything for women with triple POSITIVE.

Also, if anyone can provide any feedback on what to expect after receiving the shot that would be great!

Not quite following your question. Are you interested in whether or not Zoladex preserves fertility in triple positive women as opposed to triple negative women? Triple negative women typically don't need to shut down their ovaries because their cancer isn't fed by estrogen. Triple positive women might take Zoladex so they can take aromatase inhibitors instead of Tamoxifen. That's what I'm doing. But, I'm not trying to preserve my fertility (too old for that -- 53).
