Hi Ladies,

Has anyone had any luck seeing a rheumatologist to help manage the joint pain (and some swelling) from AIs? I'm in year 5 of Arimidex, stopped Lupron a little over a year ago, and if anything the pain is getting worse...but I don't want to stop the medication. I wonder if there's anything a rheumatologist can suggest that the palliative medicine doctors can't.

    Hi Yuuki, My daughter has RA and I'm not sure if a rheumatologist can help you. She is now on a weekly biologic injection and is doing well. The Dr. prescribes prednisone for flare ups. Both meds have side effects. Have you asked your PCP for help? There are some good post on pain and what others have tried. Good luck!
