Pimple in armpit or something else?

A few days ago I noticed that a red bump in my left armpit, on the same side where I had cancer. It is about the size of a small pea, and feels firm. It doesn't hurt at all. I don't think it is a lymph node, because it feels like it is in the skin and doesn't seem to go any deeper than that. I don't know what a lymph node might feel like, though. I am prone to acne, and get folliculits on my chest sometimes, but I've never had a pimple in my armpit before. I don't have any hair left in this part of my armpit since I had radiation, and I don't shave, so it's probably not an ingrown hair. I'm going to try to get in to see my MO, but I was wondering if anybody had something like this happen?

The same thing happened to me. It was a pimple in my arm pit! Getting one in my late sixties and in that particular area was quite a surprise..

Thanks, GlobalGal.  I guess it can happen!  I've got an appointment to see the NP at the MO's office on Monday, I'll see what she thinks.
