I hope this brings someone some peace of mind... (BIRADS 4)

These last few weeks have been a nightmare. My mom (52) got a mammogram and ultrasound done six months ago (she has very dense breasts) and was given a BIRADS 3 and told to come back for additional imaging in six months. During that period of time, her sister (my aunt) was diagnosed with IBC. My mom’s new mammo/US was given a BIRADS 4, as the ultrasound picked up on three irregular, hypoechoic nodules. Of course, being the person I am, I googled the hell out of “irregular and hypoechoic nodules” and everything I found online pointed to malignancy.

My mom had these three masses biopsied last week, and we just got the results — BENIGN!!!!!!!

If you are concerned about your BIRADS 4 grade, *please* know that it CAN be benign. And that God is good, all the time.

My pessimistic side asks why god puts us through this hell in the first place....just sayin' (and does it mean he hates all the ladies that did not get b-9??) Rant over.
