when I was diagnosed the first time it was found by mammogram. I did not feel a lump.

This time I’m feeling a lump and waiting on tests. Can you tell me, what did your cancerous lump feel like? How big was it? How deep?

Thank you.

I felt my lump because it is on the upper quadrant and cover a big area of my breast (even this one always is the bigger of two). I remembered I imagined it must be at least 3 cm in diameter. It was palpable, hard (compared to other area in the same or the other breast). It is weird that mine wasn’t picked up by screening mammogram. However since my doctor felt that too when she examined me, she sent me to get ultrasound to confirm it.

Mine was at the bottom inner quadrant of my left breast. It was hard. I could not move it. It did not hurt. It was about 1.5 cm. I wasn't sure if it was a lump or some kind of rib deformity, but it didn't feel like the other breast. I also wasn't sure if there was one or two. There were at least two. It was also easiest to feel it while lying down.

I've had a few lumps. The first was when I was diagnosed with cancer. It was pretty big and you could visibly see it. But in the same breast I had three benign cysts which were also pretty large.

The second lump has been ruled fat necrosis and NOT cancer. It feels like a pea sized bump, not too deep down, but shallow enough that you can feel it easily if you press.

I guess I'm saying that there are other lumps, so hopefully your lump is benign!
