Hi Everyone,

I met with my Oncologist last week. His advice was to stop taking Anastrozole now (started on it March 2016).

Per his calculations I have a 5.2% of my breast cancer reoccurring in the next 10 years by stopping it now and

a 4.5% if I continue it for another 5 years. He made it my decision which was difficult because I felt like it was

my crutch for preventing the breast cancer from reoccuring, do any of you feel this way? I am also taking Fosamax

because the Anastrozole was not kind to my bones, will be taking Fosamax for another 5 years probably.

Thank you.

My Oncologist used cancer math.net model to calculate.

    Dx: 10/2015, IDC, Left, 1cm, Stage 1B, 1/12 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2-

I also had Oncotype testing, score 14.

My plan is also for 5 yrs, if they say stop when I get there, I'm stopping. Good luck to you. After all I learned, I had pretty favorable pathology ER+ grade 2 oncotype 17. Only thing that bothers me was tumor size, yet on the other hand, I figure I started as DCIS and it took a long while being in there to finally get me to feel it and finally have a test.
